Following positions are currently available:

Job Location: Fraser Valley, Vancouver Region

Responsibilities:

• Review construction drawing, geotechnical reportand attend pre-bid meetings to develop an understanding of scope requirements and prepare budget and shoring quotations.
• Review of soils report, shoring design drawings, topographic survey plans and layout/demarcation.
• Prepare bids, select vendors and/or subcontractors and determine cost effectiveness of projects to be bid.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve potential issues.
• Monitor client changes and advise of all changes in scope during the estimate period. Follow awarded contracts as assigned, extra work items, change orders.
• Select vendors and/or subcontractors and determine the cost effectiveness.
• Perform Risk and Contract Management responsibilities as required.
• Advise on major changes in scope of work and monitor actual cost to estimated cost.
• Review construction design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality or availability of materials. Review list of work to be performed by subcontractors.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Review contracts to ensure the scope of work match proposals.
• Attend tender award meetings and contribute to the successful award of contracts.
• Establish and maintain project schedule, make sure work performed as per by laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in geotechnical and shoring would be an asset.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and others.
• Experience or understanding of shoring construction contract language is a plus.
